Announcing Wargame Bloggers Quarterly!

The more observant amongst you will have noticed it has been a bit on the quiet side around here for a few weeks. Until now I've had to keep my mouth shut regards the real reason and for the likes of me that represents something of a challenge to say the least!

Anyway, it's with a sense of relief I can now explain why...

Both Evan and myself have been head down beavering away on a new project with a bunch of like mind members of the blogosphere. Here's what we've been up to, all "press released up" if you like....

What's this all about then?!?
The Wargame Bloggers Quarterly (WBQ) is a FREE community driven electronic magazine (PDF e-Zine) composed of the best wargames and miniature painting content from the collective blogosphere. The purpose of the WBQ is to help promote wargaming and miniature painting and ensure that the best material generated by participants in the hobby is available to the wider community in the long term.

Any individual is free to submit content to WBQ for publication. Submissions may not have been published in any other e-Zine, printed magazine or other publication to prevent copyright infringement (with the exception of the author’s own personal blog). All content remains the copyright of the author at all times and will be fully credited upon publication.

If you want to know more about WBQ you can read our charter here or you can contact the current Editor-in-Chief via email on wargamebq@gmail.com.

Important: WBQ is specially designed for tablet and/or PC viewing and contains high-resolution images and other content that look great when zoomed in or viewed full page. Make sure you download your copy rather than view it online to get the very best experience!

Issue List

So there you have it! As Editor-in-Chief and also publisher of Issue One I had my hands full as you can probably imagine. Fortunately I was blessed with a team of supportive, talented individuals in the form of the Editorial Panel who helped out with every conceivable task and generally made my life a lot easier.

If you were not initially involved or offered a role please don't feel left out! When we kicked off we worked with an initial list of people drawn from our respective contacts and we limited that list to keep things sane as we found our way. From now on anyone is free to submit content and we heartily encourage it!. Not only that, if you read our charter you will see that the Editorial Panel gets refreshed periodically and the Editor-in-Chief role gets moved on from issue to issue as well. No one person owns WBQ - the community owns WBQ.

So get downloading, have a read and tell the Editorial Panel what you think on wargamebq@gmail.com.

PS. Welcome aboard PK! :-)

Cheers,
Millsy

  4. Once in a millennium, an exceptional human being steps forth and changes the course of human history; an individual who unites warring factions, stills the troubled waters, brings balance to the Force, and effortlessly clarifies any changes to the offside rule.

    MICHAEL MILLS

is not that individual (except possibly with the offside rule).

But he's given it his best shot anyway, herding the disparate cats of the Wargaming Blogosphere towards a common purpose.

    A ragtag band of misfits, each one with their own unique talent, would come together at his bidding to forge a legend that would blaze across the firmament (we hope);

    THE WARGAMES BLOGGERS QUARTERLY!!!

  15. Belting! I've often thought that this would be a good idea, the blogosphere is full of some wonderful articles that unfortunately don't get enough exposure and you're lucky if you happen upon them. I'm so relieved that someone had picked up on this, I would have tried however as my organisational skills are somewhat on par with Homer Simpson's it would probably have sucked and put anyone off the idea for eons.
Bravo to all involved and Michael for his first stint as Editor!
