I've been
panicking over planning the painting queue for my first foray into Curt's
Analogue Painting Challenge, wondering which minis to paint and in what order, thinking on themes for submissions, and racking my brain over what form my Curtgeld will take (OK, I get it, it's called a Challenge
for a reason).
So, my spirits were lifted somewhat by the arrival of this stout-hearted fellow;
|
"Righty-ho, chaps, last one into the temple is an Oxford man!" |
This is the doughty Captain Krustache of Kashgar, courtesy of
Bob Murch's Pulp Figures. He's this year's Movember fundraiser fig, and arrived from the Frozen North (well, British Columbia) this very afternoon. A wonderfully characterful figure, and going to support an excellent cause.
So that's one decision made - the good Captain is DEFINITELY on the Challenge queue!
Stay tuned!

Planning one miniature at a time Ev? This could take a while. :D
ReplyDeletehe-he.
DeleteI leave the huge painting exercises to the Dave Ds, Tamsins and Millsys of the world!
DeleteNifty figure and a good cause, no doubt. Living south of British Columbia in Washington State, I assure you, right now it is the Frozen North!
ReplyDeleteIt is a top fig, isn't it? I'll definitely be picking up some more of these excellent minis!
DeleteNice fig, will be cool to paint, esp if he has a ginger tinge. You need to make a daunting pile of figures to paint and pretend you have no life
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying being a granddad, I can't paint EVERY spare moment!
DeleteThough my little granddaughter is shaping up as an excellent (if slightly messy) painter, very promising for an 11-month-old!
This chap is also currently winging his way over the ocean to me, too. Great fig with loads of character!
ReplyDeleteHe is a good 'un, isn't he? I look forward to seeing your Captain in one of your excellent batreps!
DeleteSo what's the other figure you're going to paint then?
ReplyDeleteA 1:1 scale bottle of bleach. I'll ask Dave D for a few pointers on that one.

I love the smell of industrial sized volumes of cleaner in the morning. :-)
DeleteI've got the good Captain in my Challenge queue as well :)
ReplyDeleteWell, as I was first alerted to Bob Murch's Movember fundraiser via your blog, I can scarcely say I'm surprised!

Excellent choice, Millsy.
ReplyDeleteNo, this is Evan posting now - I'm the less productive member of Canister & Grape.

I really want to do him justice, so I'll have to give the colour scheme some serious thought!
Damn! I forgot to get one of these. I'll have to send Bob and note... A great figure, sporting an even greater cookie-duster - how the ladies must shudder and swoon! :)
ReplyDeleteI've gone for the pencil moustache myself, though my dad cultivates a curled and waxed number which, in its day, earned him the approval of no less an authority than the late great Jimmy Edwards.
