Today is
ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand, on which we particularly honour the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, giving selflessly of themselves on behalf of their country and community. Thank you one and all for the risks you take and the sacrifices both you and your families make. Have a great day whatever you are doing and know that the rest of us are thinking of you!
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Cheers,
Millsy
Good on you, Millsy.
ReplyDeleteLest we forget.
ReplyDeleteThanks Millsy. My grandfather was a Kiwi sergeant who fought on the Western Front in WW1.
ReplyDeleteMy great great grandfather was at the Somme. My step grandfather was at Dunkirk. Both survived. Thankfully I've managed to avoid anything like that, at least in part thanks to their efforts.
